Men...Why do womens moods get blamed on either PMS, menopause or ovaries gone rather than relate to whats said?

I always heard some things about women's mood being bad because of 'pms' but I thought they were just jokes. There are alot of jokes that are 'off color' so I guess...don't take it so seriously.
