Are you all into talking about politics, I have a very judgemental friend?

He's a conservative Republican and he feels that if someone doesn't know much about politics is a moron, not a smart person. He said this to a girl at a party. I turned around and told him that that around might not be an interest to her. She was very articulate, and talk mostly about social issues, honestly, I wanted to hear more about that, it just seem more real and that everyone could relate to. I actually liked the girl, she ran away after my meat head friend belittle her. I guess she thinks I 'm like him....what should I do, and what do you think about my friend
